Dan Osborn, the independent running in 2026 against Sen. Pete Ricketts (R-NE) after his 2024 loss to Sen. Deb Fischer, has historically said little in detail about U.S.-Israel policy. In 2024 his campaign said he viewed Israel's response to the Oct. 7 attacks as justified while expressing concern over mounting casualties. In a statement first reported in February-March 2026 he accepted the endorsement of A New Policy PAC, a group that urges cutting off and conditioning U.S. aid to Israel, and criticized U.S. tax dollars paying for 'bombs that knock over hospitals in other countries.' He also criticized U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran, while telling Jewish Insider he will 'always stand against anti-Semitism' and opposes a nuclear Iran. He is not a sitting officeholder and has cast no congressional votes.
