But What Can You Do? tracks where 2026 candidates stand on U.S. weapons and funding for the government of Israel. How we check

How this mark works
We track key votes on sending U.S. weapons and money to the government of Israel. A check means every tracked vote they cast came down against sending more, on the side of peace and de-escalation. A question mark means a mixed record: they sided with sending up to half of the time. An X means they voted to send more weapons and money in over half of their tracked votes, even as the way those weapons and dollars were being used became more and more obvious. At exactly half, money this election cycle from a lobbying group we track, or an endorsement from a group that backs sending weapons, makes it an X. Only votes actually cast are counted. Where a candidate has no recorded votes on these bills, the mark comes instead from a reviewed reading of their public record (money from the lobbying groups we track, endorsements, and their own words since January 26, 2024). There an X also covers fully backing the conduct of the war by the government of Israel without significant reservations, and a question mark also covers speaking about Israel without saying clearly where they stand on U.S. weapons and funding. A dash means No Position Found: we found nothing in their own words about Israel, Gaza or the war.
No recorded votes on the bills we track. We found nothing in their own words about Israel, Gaza or the war.
Morris, a Tampa project manager running as a write-in, campaigns on housing, price controls, insurance and school lunches. Nothing located as of September 2026 has him taking a position on U.S. weapons or money for the government of Israel, or on U.S. aid to Palestinians.

Erik Morris is a write-in candidate for governor of Florida with no party affiliation, and the Division of Elections lists him as qualified for the November 3, 2026 election with LeRoy Alaways as his running mate. He lives in Tampa, and his campaign site describes him as a native Floridian who has spent more than twenty years as a project manager and designer in entertainment construction. The seat is open. Byron Donalds and David Jolly won the Republican and Democratic primaries on August 18, 2026, and the Division's listing for the office shows Scott Jewett of the Libertarian Party and five candidates with no party affiliation on the ballot, with Kathy Anderson as the other qualified write-in candidate.
This is an empty record on these questions rather than a thin one. His platform is a set of state bills he has drafted: bigger homestead exemptions, limits on price rises tied to workers' pay, an insurance option with inflation guardrails, free school lunches paid for without raising most taxes, and a law meant to make state government less partisan. He answered all of Ballotpedia's candidate survey in June 2026, including the question on what he is passionate about, and his long answer to it reaches from constitutional rights to immigration backlogs and data centers without touching foreign policy. The words Israel, Gaza and Palestinian appear nowhere in anything of his that was read. An empty record carries no implication either way, and a governor of Florida casts no federal votes on any of this.
You are better placed to change this than we are. Ask Morris directly, or at a candidate forum, and send us the reply: it goes on this page in his own words.
Research log
The notes behind this card: what we looked at, what we found, and where each item came from.
Our research for this card began with searches run on 2026-09-07 and 2026-09-28, and every page below was opened and read on 2026-09-28 unless the entry says otherwise. His campaign site was read in full: its home page and all fifteen of its other pages, about 4,400 words. His Ballotpedia survey answers and the posts his campaign's Facebook page serves to a reader who is not signed in were read as well. He has never held federal office, so none of the congressional votes this site tracks are his, and a campaign for state office is not covered by the federal funding records this site tracks. Bands: Position (2024-01-26 onward), Reaction window (2023-10-07 to 2024-01-25), Earlier record (before 2023-10-07), Undated.

Nothing located, at any date.
Israel-related rhetoric and lobbying
Nothing located, at any date. His neutrality bill would require monthly disclosure of political action committee contributions to reduce "the impact of Big Money in politics"; it names no organization.
Safety and antisemitism (context, not an answer to what America sends)
Nothing located from him, at any date.
[Reported for about 2026-07-12; not found] Our research reported a post on his campaign's Facebook page in which he called himself "one of - if not the only #Jewish candidate for #Governor", written after meeting leaders of the Muslim Democratic Foundation and signing a pledge against Islamophobia and bigotry. The address it gave, https://www.facebook.com/groups/730194117178741/posts/2843823722482426/ , opens to a post in a Facebook group by someone else, dated October 27, 2025, about a candidate for governor of New Jersey; it does not mention Morris or carry these words. His campaign's Facebook page, as served to a reader who is not signed in, does not carry them either, and a web search for the wording found no copy. The words are therefore unread and are attributed to him nowhere on the card.
What the campaign site and own pages say
[Undated live site, read 2026-09-28] His campaign site is headed "Competent, honest leadership that fixes incentives and delivers real results." Its priorities are housing (the HEARTH Act), insurance fairness, the Florida Fair Pricing and Equitable Compensation Act, and school funding (ENUF, for free school lunches). The platform index adds pages on film and media, a neutrality and leadership unity act, a safe harbor bill, Second Amendment integrity, veterans' care and a sports-event page. None concerns foreign policy.
[Position, 2026-06-24] His Ballotpedia survey answers, submitted June 24, 2026, fourteen answers in all. His three key messages are the Fair Pricing act, the HEARTH Act and ENUF. His answer on what he is passionate about: "Fair Application of the Law, Removing Money and Party Politics influence, Making our Schools Stronger, Protecting 1A, 2A, 6A, 14A and all other rights, fixing immigration backlogs, protecting FL taxpayers, bringing in new high paying jobs, keeping data centers from ruining FL's environment, reducing wasteful spending, law & order, ending homelessness, supporting Veterans, punishing criminal actors, helping as many people as possible without worrying about party politics." He writes that he does not "believe in discriminatory, anti-American & anti-1st Amendment policies." Nothing on foreign policy.
[Read 2026-09-28] His campaign's Facebook page, as served to a reader who is not signed in, carries recent posts on food recalls and state matters and nothing on this subject.
The race
[Read 2026-09-28] The Division of Elections' record for him lists Erik Morris for Governor, Write-In, running mate LeRoy Alaways, of Tampa, filed on March 12, 2026 and qualified on June 12, 2026. The record carries a street address and phone number, which are not reproduced. The Division's full listing for this office shows ten qualified candidates: Byron Donalds (Republican), David Jolly (Democrat), Scott Jewett (Libertarian Party of Florida), Dean Abrams, Charles Burkett, Jeffrey Datto, Moliere Dimanche and Frank Russo, each with no party affiliation, and two write-in candidates, Kathy Anderson and Erik Morris.
[Read 2026-09-28] Politics1 describes him as "Project Manager" and his running mate as an engineering consultant, tutor and stay-home parent. Sparker's Soapbox's guide says only that write-in candidates also qualified. iVoterGuide's page for the race does not list him.

Not on the card, and why
The reported post calling himself "one of - if not the only #Jewish candidate for #Governor": the address given for it is someone else's post about New Jersey, and no copy was found. Recorded above as reported.
The whole of his platform and survey answers: real positions, but not about U.S. weapons or money for the government of Israel, or about U.S. aid to Palestinians. Listed above so the absence is checkable.
Byron Donalds's, David Jolly's and the other candidates' records: they belong on their own cards.
